Lothlorien

A fan recently sent me this video he made using my song, Lothlorien. A big thanks to Derek Sawchuk. The song lyrics are posted below.

(For the less nerdy, Lothlorien is a wooded realm of the High Elves in J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings.)

Lothlorien

Of a wood as fair as day
Of golden leaf born in the sun
A place a solace made
Of beautiful Lorien

We spent our days thereof
We sang of love, we sang of loss
In colors of the leaves above
We did forget our journey's cost

The cold, the black of night
The burdened fear, the bitter fight
Has met its grateful end
For a time in beautiful Lothlorien

Ere we left what we had known
Ere we began this weary flight
Smoking pipes and planting rows
Good company by fireside

Known now left at last
To memory and holding fast
To dream of now and then
And bring to mind in beautiful Lothlorien

And here on battlefield
Here upon this stony ground
Amid the clamor of sword on shield
I'm sure my life will be laid down

As the trumpets blow
As friends around me fall to foe
My mind is where we shared as kin
The wonder of my beautiful Lothlorien

Of a wood as fair as day
Of golden leaf born in the sun
A place a solace made
Of beautiful Lorien
